I try to play older style blues like Muddy Waters, BB King, or the great Robert Johnson. Kinda hard though since the oly g I have right now is a 97 model Ibanez RX and its a bit too crunchy on an amp. I can play the hell out of stuff like 70's misfits, Nirvana (who can't play Nirvana), and most faster paced punk. I'm trying to broaden my horizons a bit with this more complicated stuff. Quite difficult comparitively.

i always thought vai was taught Frank Zappa? thats what i read somewhere, and when frank died vai wrote a song named after him i think.
when i started playing guitar 7yrs ago i learnt to play smoke on the water and another one bites then dust. then i stopped playing and 2yrs ago i got an electric and started playing black sabbath, and blink 182 etc. then i started playing stuff like iron maiden, metallica, ozzy, zeppelin,, and vai, i mostly play maiden stuff though. im trying to learn For the Love of God (one of the best vai songs) now, but until i get a new guitar with 24frets and a better tremelo i cant play much more than 3 minutes

im not up on my Vai history, but i think, correct me if im wrong,Vai auditioned to play with Zappa, and he won. He played Black Page during the tryout. its called black page because the page of music literally looked black cuz of all the notes.

[quote="Uber_Soldat":607d0]its G3. satch, malmsteen, Vai and someone else there who i dont know. its usually only the first 3 (thats why its called G3), they're on a tour atm, just playing guitar. i think they all play each others songs, not their own. but theyre the best 3 guitarists alive today, probably 3 of the best ever. vai is my favourite guitarist, after adrian smith and dave murray.[/quote:607d0]

malmsteen???? HHAHHHH, thats not malmsteen, g3 03 has malmsteen and its his first G3. im going to G3 03, sweeeeeeeet. if only Petrucci was there....=(.....oh well i saw him with dream theater this past summer =)

1. those are definitely not all guitar magazines, they are too yellow, too old, and way to thick to be any guitar magazines.
2. jacksons are meh, nice design though, and ibanez's arent that great unless they are a JEM or a satriani model.
