The scanlines just don't add to the sig man, the one with the border looks alright, but please, get rid of the scanlines. You got piano keys and a very jazzy/vintage looking text, where do scanlines fit in? They make the background harder to focus on, which, in my opinion is the focal point of this sig. Scanlines should be used more with techno-type/futuristic looking sigs. But overall, avoid them at all costs. Leave it up to Proteus to whore the filters; you need to adopt your own style.
Key to this sig = Smooth.
