Im surprised they will use bone from your hip. There are many bone substitute products out there now. The reason you would want to go with that is often the hip takes longer to heal than the part they fixed. I work in the orthopedic implant industry and most of our doc's are switching to the substitute products. They find recovery time to be greatly increased

he actually told me about the substitutes but he said because it was in my face and close to my eye, he didnt want to risk any sort of rejection, infection, etc, so the safest bet was to take my own bone. Pain isn't really a problem for me. I'm sure it will hurt, but nothing I can't handle cool:

For the rest...Tomorrow morning at 7:45 I go for my 2nd (and hopefully last) surgery to finish up some work that needs to be touched up from my previous surgery. Basically they are taking bone from my hip, and patching up my eye socket to push my eye out a bit (because it's kind of sunken in: you can see my right eye is a little pushed back in [url=http://victor.365ink.com/uploads/ayhhhhhhhh.jpg:32173]THIS[/url:32173] pic).
I'm goin to spend about 3 days in the hospital, and I'm told I won't be able to walk on my own for 1-2 weeks, until my hip heals. I'm not really worried about this surgery, because I have the best plastic surgeon in Ontario (maybe even Canada) lookin after me and he's 99.9% perfect in what he does. Anyways, I'll answer any q's you have, and I wish everyone the best while I'm away.
Ciao
