and yet they had to let go of leclair cry: I'm still upset about that. But now they get back Therien who they had a while back.
he is a great player but spends to much time on the disabled list.

What is with the salaries again?

Christ, do the owners not realize what they just went through? Holik for 4.5mill? Did they not watch him in NY? I would give Holik $10 and a coupon to Dairy Queen.

Nuiendike and Roberts for 4.5 mill? Fuck, these guys are going to break a hip when they come out on the ice. Nice to know they're just in it for the money. They could have signed with Ottawa where they actually have a chance of a stanley cup, but i guess they'd rather work on their tan. Nice passion for the game guys.

I was saddened to learn that Martan Gelinas signed with Flordia, but then I heard Tony Amonte signed with us! What a great replacement. Younger, and more skilled.

Darren McCarty would also be a nice addition to the team, or perhaps Scott Neidermayer. biggrin:

eek:

Oh...for some reason I thought he was a couple years younger than Gelinas.

Scratch that, anyway, still a good pickup. Amonte scores more points that Gelinas. Good replacement at a great price.

And McCarty is official now too:

[quote:f38dc]Flames sign Amonte, McCarty

TSN.ca Staff

Hours after losing Martin Gelinas, the Calgary Flames have added some scoring punch.

The team signed unrestricted free agent forwards Tony Amonte and Darren McCarty.

Amonte signed a two-year contract at $1.8 million per season. McCarty also signed a two-year deal for $1.6 million ($800,000 per season).

Amonte had his contract bought out by the Philadelphia Flyers last week.

In 14 seasons with New York, Chicago, Phoenix and Philadelphia, Amonte had 392 goals and 436 assists in the regular season; he added 20 goals and 31 assists in 86 playoff games.

McCarty, had spent his entire 11-year career with Detroit won three Stanley Cups with the Wings and scored the winning goal against Philadelphia in 1997.[/quote:f38dc]

Flames have called a press confrence for tomorrow. There is a ton of speculation that Niedermayer may sign with Calgary in addition to Amonte and McCarty. Niedermayer is said to be interested in three teams from the west and will make his decision tomorrow. How sweet would that be?

Ahh...Blackhawks fan.

I've heard Khabibulin 90% to sign with Hawks from Eklund's Hockey Rumours. Who knows.
