Played 1 and 2 but wont buy a new system at full price to play a sequel. Perhaps when the xbox 540 is near release and the 360 is the current xbox price i will consider it.

doom 3 anyone?

Nope, doom 3 was easy to navigate, probably because of the halo controls being on a joypad it was easier to get lost. Also the fact that doom 3 was just dark unlike halo where every room looked the friggin same. annoy:

are you kidding? Doom 3 was full of rooms that all looked the same...
|
Funny i never got lost in it, whereas the most common complaint with the halo games was its far too easy to get lost. oOo: The rooms in doom 3 all had differences with them, in halo it was the same texture and the same bit of geometry every time.

I would agree, but you can't say that Doom 3 had varying environments.

The Engine was to much for outdoor enviroments at the time. BUT that has changed.

Exactly, people said the same about the quake 3 engine " it can't do outdoor maps". A load of the games using that engine have large outdoor maps, mohaa and rtcw being 2 of the more prominent ones. Doom 3 took that to another level though with light sources projecting real time shadows. Quake wars seems to do it well though judging from pics and that trailer.

I too got lost in Halo. Halo isn't exactly ground breaking, as far as FPSs go, yet it's what has kept the X-Box alive.

Doom 3 > Halo.[/quote:9f653]Nice.. comparing a game that's three years older than the other.
I liked Halo.. Yeah sure there was some repetitiveness in the campaign, but Halo 2 had less of that, but I still liked the first one's campaign better. I'll probably pick up an Xbox 360 sometime this summer.

have to say ive had more fun playing halo + halo 2 than doom 3, its repetitiveness and lacking multiplayer mode didnt leave much for the imagination.

I'm think i liked the SP of Doom more than Halo, but both Halos are obviously better in the MP aspect.
