It would be a good change. A Fresh mind who the people agree with voted in instead of a brainwashed american born.

Heck no. The authors of the Constitution wrote the dang thing when folks were flooding into the country from all over the world and they felt being natural born was important enough to put it in the Constitution. I see no reason to change it.

Exactly, learn your history and pay attention to current events before you make an ignorant statement like that. Unless you're 100% American Indian your ancestors were immigrants.

learn my history? Seing how I already have 28 college credit hours of history and i havent even entered a college classroom, let me educate you. My ancestors, the people that created this country came from england. When they arrived here there was nothing to "immigrate" to, it was uncharted unexplored hostile country. They weren't immigrants, they were conquerors, settlers, colonist who had to overcome the untamed and inhosbitable land, build communities and conquer the local savages. MY ancestors after colonizing and creating american society fought to defend what they had created with their own sweat and blood from foriegners, my ancestors signed the declaration of independence, bore the brunt of the revolutionary war, and created the constitution. There was no united states of america untill my white anglo saxon protestant ancestors created it, and they were generous enough to open up to imigration by foriegners the land they had faught and sacraficed so much for, and now a days no one remembers there sacrafice, everyones brain washed to believe that everyone is "equal" and a former imigrant, which is complete bull shit. I'm not an imigrant, I've been here for 400 years before the united states existed, and i'll be damned if I let some fucking foriegner rule my country or try and impose their culture on me when they are in fact guests in the country my fore-fathers created.
So basicly, if your a hyphenated american your only half american and should sit down and stfu.

You make it seem like you owned the country. Invading and taking it over basically is not owning, America was founded on terrorism basically. Just like all uncharted places.

Eames, please don't make me take out the facts and prove just how assinine your assumption is that only anglo-saxons made the US great
[quote:cd8bf]So basicly, if your a hyphenated american your only half american and should sit down and stfu.[/quote:cd8bf]
so an African-American who was born here, whose father, grandfather, and great grandfather were also born here is only half American???
You're starting to show your racist streak again.

Eames what the fuck are you talking about? Just because no Englishman had set foot upon America at the time doesnt mean it was unchartered, untamed territory. The savages you spoke of are the only reasons why your ancestors were able to survive on this new rock. If they hadnt shown them how to survive out here, they would have froze, starved, or died of disease if they hadnt already on the boat trip over here. And how did the colonists show their gratitude? They fuckin shot them up, burned their towns, took their land and waged war on them after breaking dozens of their own treaties, which I may add, are legal documents. We celebrate and remember the 'hard work' our ancestors did by remembering Thanksgiving, 4th of July, Presidents Day, and the countless bullshit printed in our text books, so go cry me a fucking river next time you feel like immigrants are forgeting their place as 'guests' in this country.

I say no.
Why?
Because of national security reasons. If you are going to have the HIGHEST position in the government and be commander in chief of our armed forces then I think you should be born here.

Good point. But To elect a president, there must be a vote. A foreign born runner could run for life and still not be elected. It all comes down to the vote i guess.

Thats prolly the best argument ive hear so far that is against this issue, but we are talking about Arnold Schwartzeneger or however it is you spell it. This guy is more of an American icon than George Bush was at the time he was elected. In fact, he is probably just as much like Ronald Reagan than any other President, except for the fact that he made good movies. The man has been here for 20 years already, has kids, is married to a powerful American family, and has done more for this country than most people have. Im not saying he would be a good president, I doubt it. Im just saying he should have the same chance as any other runner up.

Yes, I think Arnold is more then capable to be the President of the US. However, I don't feel it's right for another man/woman to lead the country who wasn't even born here.
I have ancestors that were traced back in time who were believed to have come over on the Mayflower, and I have ancestors who came over from Poland in the early 1900s. The point of saying this is that I'm not against foriegners or immigrants who came over from other countries. I just feel that the President should of been born here in the US.
