Macbeth (Mrs. or Mr.) is definitely NOT an Anti-Hero. . .if hes an Anti-Hero than so is Richard 3 since they both brutalized their way to the top for selfish reasons. . .

Hell Macbeth at one point says "why change. . .ive killed all these people so far. . .keepin on killin is easier than not now" -

MacBeth has neither "idealism" or "courage" - his "strength" isnt derived from personal fortitude but his CONFIDENCE in the prophecies of the three witches. MacBeth is a villain. . .bottom line. As is his wife.

But they are still "heroes" - albeit not in the traditional sense. MacBeth does NOTHING heroic.

Youre taking the definition far to plainly and literally. . .if this were the case EVERY villain would be an "anti-hero". . .
