Metallica. Nirvana. (sorry Kurts voice was hardly golden). Slipknot. Creed. Live.
[quote:76c73]You gotta learn how to play the drums, or the guitar, or the elctric guitar, or the bass.[/quote:76c73]
And what - you think rap just pulls a bunch of funny ass lines out their ass and boom - Insta-Song?[/quote:76c73]
Um...yes. You really think "I MOVE IT LIKE DAT, YOU MOVE IT LIKE DIS, I MOVE IT LIKE DAT, YEAH, BITCH" required any train of thought, any consideration, except for some stupid sexual fantasy he was dreaming up?
Let me say it AGAIN-I MEANT MAINSTREAM rap...I think stuff like Black Eyed Peas takes more talent, as their lyrics actually had some thought, and they actually play their intruments (though I still dont like them..respect them). God, why can't I make it clear that I hate mainstream rap? It isnt music, its an excuse to show off some guys new "Air Jordans", his $50,000 in jewelery, and his fab abs, and what the G.A.N.G.S.T.A life is, some fantasy land they dreamed up, with a hard-core twist. Ever rapper out there...all he has to do is flash out some gang symbols, tug on his necklace, then be seen with a whore and BAM! He' makes it to #1 on the charts. It's crazy, people no longer listen to this stuff for the music, but for the culture it sprouts. There IS NO musical talent in mainstream rap, I've already said it thrice. It's more of an idol worship thing.
Regarding all those bands you listed...when did everyone get the idea I liked Slipknot and Creed? Metallica and Nirvana, yes, but everything I said about mainstream rap I can say for mainstream rock, though its a little different, as I too hate that.

Again - youre using some general ass stereotype of rap to blanket the entire genre - Which tells me youre exposure to rap - mainstream or otherwise - is INCREDIBLY limited.
KANYE WEST is "mainstream" - fucker won Grammies. . .where in his lyrics is he talking about "bitches, 40's and cars"?
