i dont have the 'man' mentallity when it comes to police, but its true that many people over here have a natural mistrust of the police from their own personal experience. what i also dont buy is this respect im supposed to give people just because of a particular job they have; whether its teaching, policing or whatever. i dont pick fights with cops when they pull me over and ive had very negative moments with them that didnt involve me being pulled over or busted. the majority of police officers i have come across are very rude, arrogant, pompous and like i mentioned before, they talk down to me. it isnt just me, either, they have been rude to everyone in my family at one point or another. i dont have a 'fuck the cops attitude.' im not a jerk to people, i dont give attitudes to people i meet in life and cops arent an exception. but the fact is in my experience as well as my friends and family, no matter how you address them, they will not show you respect over here.

Man, I totally understand and agree - They're normal people with the same downfalls and mislogic as the rest of us, so why should we treat them as perfect specimens of humanity? Because they have ben thrusted into a position of authority? I think not. They're just commuting to society like the rest of us - We're all a part of tthe rat race, to deny that ytou'd have to be as pure as JC himself. You should take it with a grain of salt and any confrontation should be looked at objectively.

If you've had a bad experience previously, it's that much harder to do that. But then again, it's total human nature to generlise....
