Id wait until the ps3 comes out to laugh and then buy an extremely cheaper xbox360 with a huge array of decent games and with a copy of halo 3 which will most probaly be released when the ps3 will be.

what I mean was if he previously owned an xbox and got into some of the games on there a lot and wants to play their sequels he should get the 360. Sorry i wasnt clear enough.

I'm pretty sure there'll prbably be plenty of non-sequal games coming out for the 360. From what I've heard plenty of Japanese developers who ignored the original Xbox are jumping on board to develop games for the 360... I'm usually not that interested in Asian-type RPGs or other games like that but that's not the point.

its worth it imo. dont have neough for a good computer or to keep upgrading mine so thats pretty much my only choice.

Play pgr 3, then look at the road when you;re driving along, just ties in with that post i made earlier in this thread about it having no anisotropic filtering. Anything a few feet ahead is just blurred and lacks any real detail.

Kinda gay considering the console is more than capable of running it with the filtering enabled.

The first few games for any system usually dont harness the power, you gotta wait a year or so before you get the full fleged abilities. Look at the PS2, first few games were so ugly, now if you look at some games coming out they look really good.

Thats true but the thing is ms took a pretty dumb approach to this, they hyped antialiasing to get rid of jaggies, it does but thats only half the battle. People have had fsaa and aniso on pc's for years now, aniso provides a large increase in graphical quality as well, perhaps more so than fsaa in some circumstances but without the performance hit.

Just seems for the games so far they wree really focusing on the jaggies and forgot about anisotropic filtering. Hopefully people develop games for the system with aniso enabled .

Exactly, i fucking cannot stand FPS' on consoles, controllers are annoying for that type of gaming. Now Thirdperson, sports, and racing are all leet on consoles.

I dunno what it is for me, i bought the original xbox on launch day with like 4 games, a dvd remote and another controller. Played it for a couple of days then after that i played it only now and again. Halo was what kept me playing it in co-op with a friend and was a good laugh getting through the game. Halo 2 we played a bit then kinda got bored of it.

Since ive had a pc ive become a fps whore i reckon, just prefer playing with a keyboard and mouse, playing with a jopypad its like having your arms chopped off since the movement is so clunky.
