But because of that belief the Jews killed Jesus, has killed thousands of Jews through out History and is the catalyst for most anti-semitism in Europe.

bullshit.
They say that the difference in original biblical texts and modern texts is one of the best translations of an ancient book ever. I've heard people say it was close to 97% accurate in its translation.
Where did you get all the stuff about editing anyway?[/quote:93e26]
The funny part is the ORIGINAL christian teachings are all but lost and diluted. Christians for the first 350 years never had Priests or a pope, cardinals and bishops, they had community get togethers where they shared food and ate. "agape meal"(love feast), Its not just fact that the translation is wrong/not properly done, it is the fact that the Roman empire took christianity and morphed it to a Roman vision. Organized and formal, something orginal Christians never were.

"Shared food and ate": That's symbolized in the breaking of the bread where it brings everyone together in the Eucharist.
"There are neve popes or priests.": Peter was the first pope of the church. Priests are the "traveling preachers."

ok, you are talking about Catholicism, not Christianity. I don't agree with a lot of the stuff that Catholics do either because they add things to being a Christian that aren't in the bible. I agree with you there, but you need to replace "Christianity" with "Catholicism"

Dude Christianity has only been around for 500 to 6oo years, before that it was all Catholicism.

Catholicism is the basis of every church around.. Protestant, Anglicans, Methodists, they all came from Catholicism. Unless you are reffering to The Orthodox church....To be honest, I beleive Jesus was fucking the living shit out of Mary M, "OR" as Rumour has it that before the bible was taken and rewritten, Mary M was supposedly the "13th" Apostle...

I realize that Catholicism was the first form of Christianity after Jesus' death, but I don't think that all churches are similar to it in the ways they interpret and practice. Catholicism is not the basis of my church. My church has no allegiance, it is non-denominational and teaches from the bible, not from a heirarchy of leadership based on false beleifs.
That's great if you think Jesus was with Mary Magdalene, but I'm not sure how you would come to such a conclusion.

i think people take religion or God/Jesus/Moses/Muhammad way too seriously. if you have faith in any of them, then why wouldnt you believe in the tooth fairy or santa clause?
why would anyone not think that Jesus wasnt married to Mary Magdalene? does it say in the bible that he wasnt? why does anyone believe in the bible, a book written about a guy who had been dead for hundreds of years. thats like saying the Odyssey is the bible.

The whole thing about Religion that I find disturbing is that "I'm right, you're wrong because I say so." attitude. You get it from everyone from Atheists to Christians. You can live a righteous life as a Christian/Jew/Muslim/Atheist without cramming your unproven shit down other peoples throats.
My saying..."I don't know, and neither do you." I'll take another monkeys opinion on God with a grain of salt.
Although this one thing has puzzled me...Why did Jesus show up semi-late in human history? Why wasn't he around with the Greeks when they believed in Zeus? Why wasn't he around with the Egyptians? Why did God wait so long to send man a message saying "Hey I'm here..." Also why didn't a Jesus appear in Asia? Oceania? Why would God make different prophets in different parts of the world? Why were they Polytheistic cultures? Why do Hinduism and Buddhism still exist? Why wouldn't God send multiple prophets with the same message to make sure that there wouldn't be violence towards other humans for their beliefs? Why would God put fossils of dinosaurs and ancient man on the planet? (I would hope not to fool us because that would make God a really bad comedian.) Why would God purposely tempt Adam and Eve by telling them not to eat the apple, he should have surely know being the ultimate intellect in the universe that man is tempted by what he cannot have? Why would God make a world with pain and suffering? Why would God make blacks/whites/Asians, to make us hate each other? Why doesn't God ever show up and say "Hey cut that's hit the fuck out.." Is God a pussy? I mean if he simply just showed himself to all of us and let us know he existed the world would be a far better place? Why would he create us just to destroy us later (AKA Raptures)? Does God hate the race he created?
I'm not saying I doubt his existence I'm just curious.
