Ati have released a beta version of catalyst 4.9 specifically for extra doom 3 performance, get them here

get on msn

Install prcedure

Remove current drivers

reboot in safe mode,

run drivercleaner to remove old ati drivers

reboot and install

Best to do it that way so old files aren't hanging about which could fuck up the increase.

From what ive seen it wont affect the timedemo much but seems to keep your minimum fps a bit higher.

for anyone wanting to run a timedemo btw "timedemo 1 demo1" in console (no enter after timedemo 1 like in quake 3 just all in one line).

lol back on windows ME, if you did that your sdystem would completely lock down. XP & 2000 = much better. I remmebr i did it for my sound cards and Windows ME completely froze and i had to format just to boot up

I have not seen anything changed, really but i guess maybe with a lot action going on it may run a little smoother

i havent been experianced hardley any lag with doom 3 with max settings...

hey buck what kind of 9600 are u running? i just bought a 9600 pro and im wondering what ill be running doom 3 on...

IM running the 9600SE, which is pretty much the low end of 9600 cards. I have doom3 set to mudium settings at 800x600 and runs a little bit chuggy.
