Ati have released a beta version of catalyst 4.9 specifically for extra doom 3 performance, get them here

Install prcedure

Remove current drivers

reboot in safe mode,

run drivercleaner to remove old ati drivers

reboot and install

Best to do it that way so old files aren't hanging about which could fuck up the increase.

Yes install them, thats just telling you theyre beta drivers, why would ati release them if they just fucked your pc.
