You can remove the compass by setting ui_compass...

You can remove the compass by setting ui_compass to 0, although the text messages still appear as if it was there.
And you can remove your bottom hud (health, ammo) by setting ui_hud to 0.

I believe most of the multiplayer commands, like instamsg_group_x, I found just looking through cgamex86.dll with my hex editor. Some of the commands have comments in the file as well....

Are you putting your binds into your custom.cfg file in your MOHAA/main directory? If not, you should do so. If it doesn't exist, just create it.
Or you could edit your unnamedsoldier.cfg file...

Have you tried making a custom.cfg in your MOHAA/main directory? You can put your custom binds and aliases in there and it gets run everytime you start the game.

That is where I have mine.

hmm, mine works fine from my MOHAA/main directory. If you made it in notepad are you sure it is not saved as custom.cfg.txt? You can check this in Windows by not hiding file exts for known file...
