Default Need help from a computer god - 01-02-2005, 04:29 PM

I installed my 200gig harddrive but it is only showing up as 127gig.
I have Windows XP home, with SP1 and SP2 installed, pretty much everything is uptodate since I am now using it as my master drive, with my OS on it.

I need steps on how to get my computer to read the 200gig's

thanks

If you have SP1, you should have no problems. It may be that your motherboard BIOS needs to be flashed.

you need to go get a card that you install on your motherboard. there is something about older pcs that makes them not recognize more then 127gb of space. but dammit, for the life of me i cannot remember what they are called. anyone know?

It's just a problem that WinXP has. I think those links Bleuachdu posted covers it.
