its a A/B thats why ffs. is yours a D ? + my trunk itself heats from any where to 50 Celcius (not ferenheit), it even explains in the manual here that its not good to operate it at that level. rolleyes:
Mine is A/B aswell. If yours is A/B, are you sure its a monoblock and not a 2-channel that you bridged to 1-channel?[/quote:f3315]
did i say it was a mono block ? / blah sorry. its a 2 channel/1 amo. my mistake. its currently running bridged blah" at 1. Its dedicated for the subs. If i said mono block back somewhere in the thread (my mistake). amp - XM 2200 GTX.[/quote:f3315]
Well I dont have experience with that amp so I cant really comment on it. Are you 100% sure you are wired to 4 ohm? That can make them overheat quickly. I'm sure you have it right though. Other than that, try building a little rack with fans to get the air over the heat sinks.

^ thats my rack. Works well. The fans are pulling air not pushing BTW, more efficient that way in my experience.

i currently am, (building one) it never over heats as long as the AC is on. etc. Its probably the best high wattage budget amp I have ever gotten to use. This is a testament on Sony's behalf. price and all etc. Iv'e got the rack built, just the fans i ordred from Custom Fx don't come in until Saturday, blah, it was a bitch to build since i had to mount if on the back seat (cavaliers trunk bracket = to small to hold this thing, its a tad to large)

Are we still talking about the rockford or a sony now? Take pics I wanna see it! Atleast some when you are all done. Good call on the fans. I was impatient and massively overpaid for ratshack fans...

I pretend like I can
http://tig-ol-bitties.net/photos_car.html
I made the kick pods and the sub eclosure at the bottom.
Its tough at first, takes some practice to get good at it. I always plan on painting it glossy at the end, but then get impatient and end up vinyling or carpeting everything.
I'll dig up some good tutorials for you.
You can get most of the materials at homedepot or checkers or the like. You will need fiberglass resin, fiberglass mat/cloth, autobody filler (bondo), and whatever you are going to finish it with. All of those things the Bondo brand makes.

It just takes alot of patience. I got really frusterated my first couple attempts. So far I've done 2 sets of kick pods, an entire trunk amp rack, and 2 sub boxes. I'm still not very good at it

+ you really gotta re do the interior of that car, to black , carpet job, paint the side panals, its will cost you a good 80 bucks, but it would be completely worth it, the black box there looks so out of place right now c
http://web.njit.edu/~cas1383/proj/focus_trunk/index.htm
JL audio featured the Sony MP80 in one of their systems of the month. [/quote:aa874]
I just looked into that deck. I'm actually quite impressed. Love the look of it, looks like they took a page from eclipse's decks. Sony did something right there
And yeah the car is crap. I dont care haha I'm going to college without it this fall so I'm not gonna invest in the car at all. I go for SQ not looks if you couldnt tell. Well, I like how my trunk looks but I really dont care much. The sub up front was just to enhance the soundsatge so everything comes from in front of me.
