This is business, not charity. Now, you may have a point, but ATI and other companies are stepping up to provide competition to nvidia. Mainly because they see how profitable it can be. But that is what capitalism is all about. If nvidia wasn't so much better for so long, they wouldnt be the only ones around until recently.

nvidia said $500 retail, $400 is for the lower performing versions but the full speed geforce fx is starting retail at $499.
