Realism has nothing to do with weapon balance. The rate of fire, the damage done, the recoil, etc is what realism is about, IMHO. If all the weapons acted the same that wouldn't be very real would it?

Not every realism mod sucks. AANR was created using historical data with regards to the weapon's performance. If one weapon was more powerful than another in real life the mod reflects that.

The complaint I believe you should have is the ability for everyone to pick whatever weapon they want. You're looking for realism on what weapons people carry. The fact is realism mods usually don't work that way.
