I believe his name was davis. But he just showed the way, the japanese people made it happen. Part of the reason the US has had so many problems keeping up in trade with the japanese, is that we never fully understood their business ethics and got owned for it. Read the book Rising Sun by Crighton sometime to get an idea of what its like (not the movie).
