We have a program here that you can take control of the remote computer and we don't use static IP addresses. I think it bind the Netbios name with the MAC address. The only problem with that program is, it's too damn expensive. I think it was like 20k for 2000 computers. So to sum it up, the computers shouldn't need a managed NIC card.
