I can chill to a neat jazz-tune aswell as a nice punk song..

I had to go with bits ,
You are missing some very important pieces previous to 1940.
for instance....
The 1920s became famous for the big band and swings sounds , not to mention the single most influential music of all time ..... Jazz.
And of corse original folk music that hit a high point in the 1930s and continues to this day. Such artists as Hank Williams and Woody Guthrie , you may be thinking these are country related artists but truthfully they are the foundation for all American music.
Quite honestly I can find a favorite song or sound in every era and style of music from all time. To include Tribal music of Africa , The Americas , and the Celtic war songs , to Rave and Modern Rock.

WTF?????? 80's = Huey Lewis, give me a break that was the hair bands and heavy metal era, that was it for me but I would include the Motown sound! temptations, tina turner, jackson 5 love that stuff. Motwon from Martha Reeves to Kid Rock!!!

most 80s bands were hairbands ... look at flock of seagulls ffs ... 80s and 90s are both good imo but i voted for 80s ... lots of great pop without the hip hop sound of 90% of most pop music now ...

Rock 60s...to now...but mostly 60s and recent GOOD 90s rock and 80s rock...not really a 70s man.

Rose Royce, George Clinton & The Parliament Funkadelic, The Brothers Johnson, Kool & The Gang, KC & The Sunshine Band, Barry White...all that stuff is awesome.
