The legitimate use of signs and symbols depends on its functionality.
In other words: a swastika may be used if it is functional to the game. Which it often is because it underlines the game's authenticity.

In multiplayer you can choose from a lot of German soldiers, of which 2 are SS men. For me this is over the edge of tolerance. Why?
Because here we start not only to use characters but also to identify with them, glorify them and make them heroes.
The game's designers have gone to far here.
But it is possible for me to play a game in which there are some mistakes in taste or design.

Same accounts for avatars and homepages of clans. Signs are not just being used and shown as part of the world's history. SS troops are identified with in a positive way, they are made heroes and glorified.
But in fact, a lot of them were murderers, not soldiers.
