well... i live in south jersey. on my 8th grade trip we went to a place in the Pine Barrens called mount misery. its located near s site where the jersey devil attacked a group of ppl and killed them. one of the campers tried to fight it off with a .45 . sadly they were all killed and their entrails were eaten. i walked through the site myself and saw their truck. it was littered with bullet holes and blood stains. the site was originally blocked off by the state but my old cool hippie math teacher snuck us in there. when i was walking through it I had that feeling of being watched it was really creepy. and thats my experience with the jersey devil. I also kno other ghost stories about the pine barrens. PM me if u would like to hear a few
