Hmm that sounds well : hitting the middle part = dust , hitting head or arms/legs = little blood... you can keep that
but please make the damage realistic if a guy is hit by a mortar - do not show pieces of meat flying around like in these brutal violent and cheap 3D shooter.
Prefer to show bodies with missing arms or legs ot sth like that .. I am not mad or perverse but in that way it is more realistic.
