OK, I started my 11th grade year of school Thursday. Every Saturday I'm going to post a random question that I had to do in school that week, sound ghey enough for you? Good. Now know your role, shut your mouth, and learn damnit!
Looking for Math folder.................................done
coming back to the computer.............................done
getting ready to post the question...........................done
A coin collector knew that a lightweight coin was mixed with 8 more rare coins of equal weight. She found the lightweight coin in two weighings. how did she do it?

The 8 coins were of equal weight of each other not equal weight of the lightweight coin.

lol. Actually, I should have put that down as my answer. Instead, I actually took the time to figure it out. I should have just sat there and stared at the hot senior. No wait, she sits all the way in the back of the class. Damn. That room is extremely cold too.

OK,
here goes
you have a total of 9 coins, you break them up into 3 groups of 3. you take 2 groups and weigh them against each other.
You have 2 possible solutions, they are equal or one is lighter then the other
If they are are equal then you take the last group and weigh 1 coin against 1 coin. if they are equal , your last remaining coin is the lightest.
or you will have a one coin lighter then the other
If one is lighter, you take that group and weigh 1 coin against 1 coin. if they are equal , your last remaining coin is the lightest.
or you will have a one coin lighter then the other

That's EXACTLY right, rudedog! I would mail you a cookie, but it would probably go stale before it got to your house.
