I would probably do the same in that situation. It's not my place to say if it was excessive or not, but it sure looked (and sounded) effective. I'm with a lot of these "conservatives" on the matter, the protestor stepped up, and he was put in his place, simple as that.

SO a push back or a bash to the ribs or leg/arm would not have been enough ? I am sure after a good rib shot, the protestor would have backed off. But to make such a blow to his head ?
