Default pc all messed up - 08-23-2005, 07:46 PM

my comp is all messed up and I dunno why, I dont have a taskbar and none of the desktop icons load, I am able to press Alt+Ctrl+Delete and start a new task which is how I got on the net...all my programs work and everything just my desktop is all f****d up and I dunno what to to please help ...any ideas?

Control Alt Delete > New Task > C:/WINDOWS/'Explorer' - should be in there, see if that works. ... or restarT? happy:

all that it brought up was my documents...and after I restart I log on and all it does is load up my background

sounds like you have a virus or something, try a format maybe.

Don't bother with the geeksquad. They'll charge you a ton of money to tell you to upgrade your motherboard.

Just get a second hard drive (if you only have one) and back up your important data (music and movies) then format the OS drive.
