Can this be used as a monitor for my PC and if so are there any drawbacks to using this versus purchasing a monitor?

I've got 250K Marriott points to burn, but I don't need a new TV. I'd like to replace my monitor though.
Personally, I don't like wide-screen 16:9 as monitors, although some say it 'gives you more space to work with', but I think that's BS. Unless you want black stripes on the two sides, 1024x768, for example, won't work for you anymore, and I'm not sure if you could even do that. You resolution will become 1366 x 768, like the page suggested.

Also I don't know if games these days support resolutions in 16:9 scale. I'm also thinking that like movies which are made for 16:9 screens, when scale to 4:3 screens some part of the screen is cut... Games these days are definitely made for 4:3 screens so even if your games support 16:9 screens, I think either they shrink the whole thing or something is lost... just guessing.

Might wanna check a few more things: What's the vertical refresh rate? You have a game running @ 300fps but the refresh rate is at 60 and you're sitting like 1 1/2 feet from your screen your eyes are going to strain and the screen is going to tear. It's 23" and the max resolution is only 1366 x 768, which in aspect ratio is the same as 1024 x 768, and that's your max res for such a big panel, I don't know, I think it's gonna suck, but again I haven't seen or try one so I wouldn't know.
