I have a Avance AC 97 sound card.

When I play BF1942 absolutley no sond comes!!!!

That is a VIA onboard sound...right? I had something similar a while back, but I had no problems with no sound or nothing.

Do you have all the updated drivers? biggrin:

And also fool around in the options menu. There should be a box to check "EAX" I believe, or something close to that. try turning it off and see if it works.

Whats a VIA onboard sound? And how do I know if the card is direct x compatable?

go to programs folder there should be a folder caled directx go in there and click on the program called dxdiag for directx diagnosis or whatever. after it loads click on sound device tab and it should display sound card info

ok this is what the dxdiag says. I tested my soundcard and all the software buffering works but it says it does not do hardware buffering.

Try getting the latest sound drivers for your PC. Most of the time this would fix issues you would have with the game if this is the only program that is not working properly for sound.
