It was able to keep monster and character and world design without getting really campy and, for lack of a better word... gay, just look at the difference between Pyramid Head in this movie and Nemesis in Resident Evil 2. So, yeah, good movie. And the chick getting her skin ripped off was fan-fucking-tastic.
