This has been around for basically Bush's entire time in office. I think it's just an issue that he hasn't brought to a solution he wants. And also, with all the other stuff in the news, I'm not sure how this is really distracting anyone, it's just another issue, it's not like they're not still talking about Iran, Iraq, etc...
