How I would psychologically deal with shooting someone is irrelevant: if it needs to be done, I would much rather LIVE AND DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES THAN BE DEAD.

You can prefer assuming that your assailant will not hurt you, but I won't make that mistake: if I get the chance, I'm defending myself however the situation permits.

There are arguments for both sides, but I personally prefer the offensive approach to reacting after something has happened: your "tactic" worked WONDERFULLY well for the people in the planes that struck the World Trade Center...

It's a horrible mindset. DO NOT allow yourself to become a victim... FIGHT.
