i think his parents just got charmed by a ambitious doctor. i dont see that it was such a bad idea given that hed lost his dong.
considering he was a twin it was an ideal situation for the doctor to examine in a "case study"....I think ultimately the parents were trying to find the best way for the chap to have a normal life....
