I can plug it into my gf's stereo through rca jacks. I also use it in my car with an fm radio transmitter. Also good for audio books. You can upload pics to it too, although that seems pointless to me. The 1GB is on the small side. Also the black scratches easily so I bought a cool looking black aluminum case for it. All in all I'm very happy with it.
