Your dog probably had an infection so it got prednisone, the woman who has luekemia probably takes prednisone to keep her from getting an infection because she has a weak immune system. Antibiotics work for tons of different things.

yeah i know. but i mean that if they knew what it was they could better treat it instead of admistering prednisone. i'm pretty sure prednisone is a pretty harsh drug.

i've been to doctors that will just look and then prescribe some drug that may or may not work. i know their time is valuable and all, but if we were able to better recgonize what people had, there would be less of a need for antibiotics and thus we would see less resistance from new viruses and such. just my opinion.
