I live in canada but I've been to the uk before. They do stop serving alcohol at 11pm (which sucks) but you can easily go clubbing till the morning.
Here in Canada the bars generally close at 3am. And then we all go to after-hours clubs.
Liquor stores here close at 3am as well. Well, they set their own hours, but alot stay open till 3am.
