I'm new to this forum, but I've had the exact same prob, luckily my explorer.exe usage hovered around 90% rather than 100%. I killed it in the task manager and then launched it again from the managers file menu (new task, just enter 'explorer.exe'). That seems to have done it. Still fixed after a reboot. Hey Presto! Now I'm going to scan for viruses.
how do i do this?

ctrl-alt-del = task manager

To launch an app click the app tab and click on new task button.
