Ah one of these classic situations. Seen it a hundred times, perhaps more.

Simpliest way to handle it, walk the fuck away. Seriously do you need or want the undue frustration of holding other peoples lives together when they dont even care themselves? If there giving you grief for trying to help just say fuck um and let them kill themselves. Your not there caretaker no matter how much you think you are, or want to be. Just leave them, they dont sound like people you want to be around anyway.
