So then why is it that many european countries don't have the supply of weapons coming in like the states does? In Canada we don't have much of a problem with weapons, but the government does dick all in preventing weapons from coming into the country. The demand just isn't here for weapons.
I read somewhere that some European countries actually have a higher per-capita violent crime rate than the US, despite (or maybe because of) the lack of guns, its hard to judge, Switzerland has guns up the wazoo and a low crime rate. It could be however, that they're simply more disciplined than most other people, including Americans.

[quote="Bean 2":85467]I agree on the background checks and everything but i dont agree with stryker when u say that if thats all checked out then u should be able to buy a gun. What happens if a man finds out his wife has been cheating on him and he then goes to the shop and buys a pistol and caps the slut and the shit whose sleeping with her? Not a good idea to be able to buy a weapon in the same day. I think the waiting period should be even longer then it is now. I think its a week but i could be wrong. And really there is no point to full auto weapons and pistols. Rifles and shotguns are understandable cause there used for hunting. But im not gonna bolt in a fifty cal. to a jeep and go hunting for wabbits.[/quote:85467]

depends on the region of the US, I think in Oregon and California they regularly have invasions of bears or mountain lions. I think there was even a family video wher their Golden Retriever almost got killed by a bear. If I lived there I would have a friggin' Barret or Kalashnikov in my gun closet, any bear decides to make a meal of my dog and I'd turn him into a swiss cheese. M16:

To purchase a firearm in the United States from a gun shop you need to have an instant background check, where the gun shop owner calls a branch of the FBI and they do an instant background check for felonies and restraining orders. People say that some guns are okay, but handguns are not, but that is anti-gun propaganda coming from the media. I would rather be shot with any handgun than a shotgun or a deer rifle. Full automatic weapons can be purchased, but you have to have a special class 3 license and also be licensed by your state and town of residence; they are very hard and expensive to get. The weapons also cost thousands and they are no longer manufactured for the public. I also believe that you now need a destructive devices license to purchase some semi-auto .50 BMG rifles.
