[quote="Short Hand":a202c]JUST GO WEITH THE 4200. TRUST ME ITS YOU BEST OPTION RIGHT NOW. 53 BUCKS AND ITS A ABIT CARD. whoops caps. anyways the rest aren ot worth them oney etc. just stick with that. it will run alot of newer games faster since it has a faster core. sure no dx 9 support like the 9600 or 5600 , but its faster in genral + those other cards dont have the power to run the new dx 9 features right. for the price just go for it. + the abit seires of 4200's are very very very over clockable. which means your gonna get some nice speeds outta it cheap. go for the 4200 eames. CORE = fast which means good. for you price range its you best option.[/quote:a202c]
will it run hl2 and mohpa?

yes perfectly. , it just ownt support any dx9 features (but that does not matter) the other cards in your budget wont run those features without going to 2 fps. its am uch better choice it will run all games mazing and you can OC it, a avergae gamer like yourself will not even notice the diffrence man. just better fps that all. I bet this card could run Doom 3 on med to high and mohpa on high at a decent res.

the 53 dollar version sold out, so this version slightly more expensive at 59 bucks is still available, but i was looking at these and they say they are "barebone" which means they only come with the card itself...no installation disk, no drivers or no cables....is this bad?

It's not bad. The Driver disks are always outdated and you need to download the lastest ones anyways.
You're warrenty will probaly be limited though.

9800XT is so overpriced right now. A 9800 Pro with similar performance costs less than $200, while a 6800nu out performs the 9800XT and costs $300 while the 9800XT still costs about $350.
